Islam and personal freedom
The position of Islam regarding freedom is that it is a supporter and protector of freedom. In this regard, this statement of Amir al-mu'minin Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) can be quoted.
"Matthew used to oppress people and gave birth to them."
"When did you enslave people even though their mothers gave birth to them?"
And Hazrat Ali (RA) had made this will.
"وَلَا تَكُنْ عَبْدَ غَيْرِكَ وَقَدْ جَعَلَكَ اللَّهُ حُرّاً"
"Do not be a slave to anyone else. Allah has created you free.
Islam's position on man is that man is born free. This freedom is given by Allah which no human being has the right to take away from it. Therefore, every human being has freedom of belief, freedom of religion, freedom of thought, political and collective freedom and above all freedom of speech and criticism. Is. All these freedoms are given by God. And Islam supports and defends them.
Freedom of belief and religion is that every human being is completely free to adopt whatever religion he chooses. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) himself could not snatch this freedom from anyone, so Allaah says to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
"Will you then force people to believe?
Elsewhere it says:
"There is no coercion in religion.
If we keep in mind the reason for the revelation of this verse, then it will become clearer. Will make And this was their practice. When Islam came, the people of Aws and Khazraj also converted to Islam, and the husbands of these women forced their Jewish children to return to Islam. Despite the conflict between Islam and Judaism, God forbade them to force anyone to convert to Islam. This is the freedom of belief and religion that Islam believes in. On the other hand, you should read the stories of Christians in the history books. They used to say either accept Christianity or be ready to die. (4)
This is the freedom of belief which in the eyes of Islam is the birthright of every person. But this freedom is also subject to certain conditions so that this freedom does not become a toy in the hands of the people to convert to Islam whenever they want and after a few days when they have to change their taste, they convert to Christianity and then become Jews or He converted to Islam twice. This is an abuse of freedom. Freedom is to adopt whatever religion you choose. If a person converts to Islam of his own free will, he should convert to Islam after much deliberation, and then he must not renounce Islam, otherwise he will have to suffer the punishment of apostasy.
The second freedom that Islam believes in. That is freedom of thought. In many places, Allah Almighty has invited people to reflect. For example:
Tell them to open their eyes to what is in the heavens and the earth.
The second verse is:
﴿قُل إِنَّمَا عَعِظُكُم بِوٰحِدَةٍ تَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثنىٰ وَفُرٰدىٰ ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّروا ... ﴿٤٦﴾ ... سورة سبا
"O Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)! Tell them, I advise you only one thing. For the sake of Allaah, fight your mind alone and together."
Islam taught people not to believe in superstitions and superstitions and not to follow the dictates of their ancestors but to meditate on their own and use their intellect and then decide which religion is the right one. The reason is that the Qur'an has given rational arguments to prove the truth of Tawheed, Prophethood and the Hereafter, so that the wise may consider and accept it as truth after considering it.
As a result of this intellectual freedom, intellectual freedom became possible. On the basis of this freedom of knowledge, the scholars differ from one another in various rulings. Every scholar is free to form any opinion on the basis of argument. And this difference is not at all flawed in the eyes of Islam. It is this freedom of knowledge that has led to differences of opinion among the scholars, and in spite of this difference, every scholar does not hesitate to take advantage of the other. Therefore, Imam Zakhashari, who was a Mu'tazilite, Ahl-e-Sunnat and Jamaat have always benefited from his Tafsir al-Kashaf.
In the same way, Islam gives freedom of speech and criticism. On the contrary, on some occasions when it is a matter of public interest, it is necessary to say something and criticize. That is why Islam has placed the duty of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil on the shoulders of the ummah. Therefore, when any evil is manifested or there is a threat of general disorder in the society, it should be prevented by using the right of criticism and the troubles that may arise in this regard should be borne with laughter. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
﴿ وَأَمُر بِالَمَعُورِ وَانهَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَاصِب وَرَ عَلَى مَا أَصابَكَ ... ﴿١٧﴾ ... سورة لقمان
"Enjoin good. Stop evil, and be patient in the face of adversity."
These are the teachings of Islam. Take a look at these teachings and confront them with non-Islamic governments where there is no freedom of speech. It is permissible to say what the government says, otherwise be prepared to face the hardships of imprisonment. Islam is against this ideology. Islam has given complete freedom to every person.
That he should, after contemplation, adopt any religion of his choice, and if the government stands in the way, jihad should be waged against that government - the first verse that has been revealed for the obligation of jihad Explained:
ذُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقـٰتَلونَ بِأَنَّهُم ظُلِموا ... ﴿٣٩﴾ ... سورة الحج
"People who are being fought are allowed because they are oppressed.
These are the freedoms that Islam not only believes in but also protects. These are the freedoms of rights and interests, not of disbelief and disobedience. These are not the freedoms that Westerners cherish and interpret these liberties as personal freedom or private life, and that is that a person is completely free personally whether he commits adultery, drinks alcohol or commits any other sin. Islam does not believe in the freedom of this disbeliever. Islam believes in freedom of rights and interests. As I explained above. Islam does not believe in this freedom
In which the loss of oneself or others is hidden or the freedom which leads to destruction and destruction. Your freedom ends where the loss of others begins. You have complete freedom to drive on the road but this freedom does not mean that you have to have an accident and then you have to follow the rules at all times. https://islammyreligion2020.blogspot.com/
If the heart is open, then every one will come to you and not to you. Just like there are no beaches, all the rivers go and fall there, every child and woman enters it with joy. Similarly, the people on this site are open-hearted. I don't understand their language but I understand it with translation. I love you, https://islammyreligion2020.blogspot.com/
